Hey Guys!

Holy smokes. I am terrible at consistently writing on here, sorry about that! Who would have thought that snail mail would be an easier and better way to hear from me then here on the computer. Anyways, I am back in Rexburg attending school at BYU-I for the fall semester and I am already having a way better experience than the last time I was here. I am in such a better place now and am loving the environment, my apartment (which is way nice!), and all the people I am meeting. I have seriously met way more people and done way more things just in these first 2 weeks than I did all last fall. I have gone dancing, to the straw maze, shooting and just crazy with some pretty awesome people. And yes, I am sure that a lot of you want to know about dating and I have already been on about three times the amount of dates then last time. That's pretty darn good for me! I love the independence and freedom I have with myself regarding pretty much everything in my life. It is so great! Sorry Mom and Dad ;) And I can't forget my awesome roommates. Wow, have I been lucky or what. I live with 5 wonderful girls, that I didn't even know, who always know how to put a smile on my face and make sure I leave the house with a tummy ache from laughing so much. We have already experienced flooding, no internet and no power within our apartment all in these first 2 weeks. That sure has left some memories for us.
It has also been a bitter sweet time for me as I have been up here and remembering where I was at and what I was going through a year ago. (In case you didn't know, I didn't come back up to campus in the spring) I will admit, I had a little anxiety attack upon arrival but sure enough there was nothing for me to worry about. I am just so happy and so blessed to be where I am at in my life right now. I am young, wild (haha) and free and I need to enjoy the here and now while it lasts. Thanks for all the love and support <3 Hopefully I will get better at keeping up with the blog.

P.S.- I will have pictures of my adventures up soon!

  1. Thanks for the update Deanna. We all thought of you as we went on our adventure yesterday. Our first stop was at Grandmother and Grandfathers place in Clinton. They both looked really good and had a lot of energy.
As we all sat in the living room I asked each member of our group to give a brief update on what they were doing in their lives. We gave an updat for you as well. We brought Natalee with us and apparently this was confusing to Dad because he started talking to her and asking her questions as though she was a foreign exchange student living with us. I looked at your Mom and we both realized he was serious. It was pretty funny but I didn't want to embarrass him so we quickly got him straightened out.
Once we left there we drove through Ogden (saw some pretty painted horses downtown) and then got on I-84 and headed East through the mountains. It was so beautiful! The colors were amazing.
After getting turned around a few times we ended up at our next destination, Kamas Utah. We stopped at the cemetery there and found Ruth Mosher Pack's burial plot. She is the ancestor Rebecca took on trek. I don't know if you remeber her story but it is very inspiring. She was baptized in Canada as a young lady, had to leave her family and ended up having an amazing pioneer experience. My favorite part is her sister visiting her as a spirit and asking her to do her temple work. Anyway, we took some pictures there and sent them to 1Billiongraves.com using our smartphones. We left there and drove some more until we arrived at the HGTV dream home in Heber. We parked a couple of empty lots down the road, walked back to the river and then up behind the dream home. We couldn't resist walking a few feet further into the backyard and the back porch. It is a beautiful home and Natalee says she is going to buy it. We shall see.
We left there and drove some more all the while admiring the beautiful fall colors. We ended up at the Riverwoods shopping complex. We stopped there and were amazed at all the artwork that had been drawn in the parking stalls as part of the "Chalk The Walk" promotion they did this weekend. There were some beautiful murals and pictures drawn on the ground from profesional artists as well as gifted amateurs. It will all be gone in a day or two because it is suppose to rain today and tomorrow. I'm sure there is a lesson there somewhere about putting your time and effort into experiences and relationships that will last into the eternities instead of just a little while here in mortality.:) Anyhow, we then headed back home after our 7 hour / 225 mile adventure. We ended the day by watching a movie requested by me. Yes you read that right. We watched "Water For Elephants". Pretty good for a circus movie:) Well I better sign off as it is now Monday morning and time to get to work. I'm really glad to read about your experiences this semester and that this semester is turning out so much better. Love, Dad
